The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage) in Nairobi is open to the public for one hour daily, from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, except on December 25th (Christmas Day)[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]. Entry to this visiting hour is strictly by advance booking through the Trust’s own channels — third-party or agent bookings are not accepted[3][4][5][7]. During this time, visitors can witness the orphans’ midday mud bath and feeding[1][2][4].
Arrive early to ensure you don’t miss the experience, as the gates cannot be opened late and the hour cannot be extended for late arrivals. Note that Nairobi National Park gate entry fees, payable to the Kenya Wildlife Service, are now required in addition to the orphanage entry donation[6].
