Life Knysna Private Hospital has specific visiting hours for different wards. As of October 2023, the visiting hours are as follows:
- General / Surgical Wards: 10:00 – 11:00 (morning), 15:00 – 16:00 (afternoon), 19:15 – 20:15 (evening)
- ICU: 11:00 – 12:00 (morning), 15:00 – 16:00 (afternoon), 19:15 – 20:15 (evening)
The hospital also amended visiting hours for certain wards (effective February):
- General ward: 11:30 – 12:00; 15:00 – 16:00; 19:00 – 20:00
- Surgical ward: 11:30 – 12:00; 15:00 – 16:00; 19:00 – 20:00
- ICU / high care: 11:00 – 12:00; 15:00 – 16:00; 19:00 – 20:00
- Maternity unit: 11:00 – 12:00; 15:00 – 16:00; 19:00 – 20:00 (excluding fathers)
The following additional rules apply:
- No visitors under 12 years old.
- Only two visitors at a time per patient.
- Only two visitors per visiting hour for patients in isolation rooms.
- Specialised units may have additional precautions—please check with the unit manager.
The hospital emphasises that these measures allow healthcare workers the time needed for treatment and ensure quality patient care[1].
