Busamed visiting hours are published separately for each Busamed private hospital, and several hospitals set different times for ICU, high care, maternity and neonatal units. A two-visitor limit per patient appears on most Busamed visiting pages. Choose your hospital below to check its schedule, or use the wider visiting hours directory for other groups.

Busamed’s website lists seven hospitals in five provinces:

General Visitor Policy

Busamed does not publish one group-wide visiting policy on its patient care pages. Each hospital has a “Your Visit” section with its own visiting hours. General ward times published by each hospital:

ICU, Maternity & Special Unit Visits

Busamed ICU visiting hours and high care rules are published for three hospitals:

Busamed Modderfontein

• ICU and high care: same as general wards, 10:00–11:00, 15:00–16:00 and 19:00–20:00; two visitors per patient; no children under 12.
• Maternity and NICU: 11:00–12:00, 15:00–16:00 and 19:00–20:00; grandparents and the newborn’s siblings may visit by prior arrangement with management.
• Emergency centre: one parent may accompany a child being treated.

Busamed Hillcrest

• ICU and high care: 15:00–16:00 and 19:00–20:00; maximum two visitors per patient; no children under 12.
• Maternity and NICU: 15:00–16:00 and 19:00–20:00; grandparents and the baby’s siblings 11:00–12:00 and 16:00–16:30; fathers have extended visiting from 08:00 to 20:00.

Busamed Harrismith

• ICU and NICU: 11:00–12:00 and 15:00–16:00; two visitors per patient; no children under 12.
• Maternity and paediatrics: 15:00–16:00 daily; partners may visit outside these hours by arrangement with nursing staff.

Weekend & Public Holiday Visiting

Busamed’s hospital pages list visiting times without separate weekday and weekend schedules, and none mention public holiday changes. The one weekend-specific entry is the Mental Health Wellness Unit at Busamed Harrismith, where visiting is listed for Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 17:00. Confirm holiday visiting with the hospital directly, and see weekend visiting hours for other hospitals.

Visitor Rules

Rules that appear on Busamed hospital visiting pages (each applies only where that hospital lists it):

• A maximum of two visitors per patient per visit (Modderfontein, Gateway, Hillcrest ICU and high care, Paardevlei, Harrismith, Lowveld).
• No children under 12 (Modderfontein general wards, ICU and high care; Hillcrest ICU and high care; Harrismith ICU and NICU; Lowveld).
• Stay away if you have any signs of illness (Gateway, Paardevlei).
• Arrange visits by grandparents and siblings to maternity or NICU in advance (Modderfontein), or keep to the set grandparent and sibling times (Hillcrest).
